Argumentative Outline about Women

Women Should Be Encouraged To Enter Science and Engineering Professions

                                                              OUTLINE

Thesis: There are pros and cons in terms of the women’s entrance to science and engineering

professions.

I.                   Even though some people argue against men’s action, they are wrong due to women’s

action.

A.    Men tend to be more confident and make decision in a faster way (Siegel, 2004, pp. 14-

16).

-Statics show that in Canada only 11% of engineers, 29% of computer and match

scientists, 31% of chemists and 29% of lawyers are women. Many male-dominated

fields are still inflexible in practise (CCGC, 2006).

B.     Women identify problems more quickly and accurately (Siegel, 2004, pp. 14-16).

-Women also tend to have a larger corpus collusum – the group of nerve fibers that

connect left and right hemispheres. That makes women faster at transferring data

between the computational, verbal left half and the intuitive, visual right half (CWSE,

2005, p.12).

II. Although some people argue about men’s brains against women’s brains.

A.    Left-brain oriented men are better for the hard science biologically.

-Men are usually left-brain oriented. That often makes then better at field a major

stumbling block remains for women entering engineering: a lingering belief that men are

biologically adapted better for the hard sciences (CWSE, 2005, p. 12)

  1. Women are more flexible and find it easy to multitask (CWSE, 2005, p.12).

-Women have more nerve cells.

III.             Despite the fact that some people argue against men’s style, they are wrong due to

  women’s strategy

A.    Men have a unique behavioural system that they like give orders to people and dominate them (Siegel, 2004, pp. 14-16).

-Because of women’s emotional status, they tend to work under men’s control system.

B.     Women better than men about care of giving moral and physical power their employee.

-Women are more tolerant of differences, so they’re more skilled at managing diversity

(Siegel, 2004, pp.14-16).

IV.             Finally, women can be good at engineering professions as well as men.

-Women leaders respond more quickly to calls for assistance (Siegel, 2004, pp. 14-

16).

-Women encourage openness and are more accessible (Siegel, 2004, pp. 14-16).

V.                Conclusion
